Stew au gratin recipe

Ingredients

  • 4 ripe pears – about 600 g (prefer seasonal fruit)
  • 3 egg-whites ( reuse the yolks they contain loads of protein ! Take some toast, spread the yolk on it, a bit of salt, some white ham, some grated cheese and in the oven !)
  • The juice of a lemon
  • 1 vanilla pod or 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • Sweetener*
  • 1 pinch of salt

Preparation

Wash and peal the pears ; mince them and cook them in some water with the vanilla pods (or vanilla extract)

Ad the lemon juice

When the pears are well cooked, remove the vanilla pods and put them through the mixer

Preheat the oven Th. 6 -180°C

Pour the stew in a dish for the oven

Beat the egg whites until stiff with the sweetener, a pinch of salt, firm

Spread the beaten egg whites on the stew

Put in the oven for about 15 min Th. 6 – 180°C to brown

Serve immediately

*Use the thermostable sweetener if it’s used for cooking. If you do not wish to use a sweetener, you can use fructose sugar (400 kcal for 100 g ) or agave powder (392 kcal for 100 g). They have a stronger sweetening power for a lower amount used so they are less caloric.
